Photo Flash: Home For The Holidays Closes at WBT

Home for the Holidays plays through December 23, 2011. The show is by Tony Javed and David Edwards and directed and choreographed by David Edwards.

Arrangements and Musical Direction by W. Brent Sawyer

With their soldier son hoping to get be home from Afghanistan for Christmas, daughter who is in college on the West Coast finishing final exams also preparing to come home for Christmas, and younger children preparing for their Christmas pageant the show follows the journey of a “typical” American family from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve as they surmount the challenges of modern life and, ultimately, rediscover the true meaning of the season. Enjoy favorites like White Christmas, The Christmas Song, Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bells, Here Come Santa Claus and Home for the Holidays; old standards such as Count Your Blessings and We Need a Little Christmas; and discover few new classics you’ll want to add to your holiday playlist! Director of Home For The Holidays, David Edwards adds, "The wonderful holiday shows at WBT have become somewhat of a tradition for me. I am proud to have been part of the cast of CHRISTMAS VOYAGER (twice!) and to have played Scrooge in three different versions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. In addition, it has been a gift to me to be a part of so many other WBT productions over the years, both as a performer and director. This year I hope to give a gift back to the audiences with HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a brand new holiday musical written just for the WBT. Tony Javed and I have come up with a show that chronicles the life of a contemporary American family during the holiday season , weaving in a varied musical score that includes traditional favorites along with some lovely new surprises and contemporary holiday songs, and just a smattering of classic Broadway show tunes, a “musical menu” that we think audiences will find funny, touching, and joyous. We’re having a great time putting it together and we think there’s going to be something for everyone in this show. We very much want it to be refreshing and new while very much in keeping with the traditional high standard of the holiday fare at Westchester Broadway Theatre. "

Starring: Stephen Berger, David Edwards, Sandy Rosenberg, Mary Stout, Haley Swindal, Ann Van Cleave and Peter Carrier. The Children: Hannah Dieck, Charlie Storck, Brandon Szep and Sophia Toppo.

Leo Carusone is the Assistant Musical Director/ Conductor. Lighting Design by Andrew Gmoser, Sound Design by Jonathan Hatton, Costumes by Renee Purdy, Properties by Grumpy's Props, Production Stage Manager is Victor Lukas, Assistant Stage Mgr. is Ron Rogell.
